Yoto Players
I'll first talk about how you can use this Yoto Mini Player for Let's Play Music and Sound Beginnings, then you can read about all the other wonderful features that it has!
What is a Yoto Player?
A Yoto Player is a kid-friendly screen-free audio player. You insert a card (which is the same size as a credit card) into the top of the player and it will play what is stored on that card. The Yoto Mini is less expensive than the original, and I feel it is better for on-the-go listening. The Yoto Mini has a very affordable price tag of just $69.99. Make Your Own cards are 5 for $14.99, so they're just $3 each! Also you can get 10% off your FIRST Yoto purchase if you use this link. With simple, intuitive buttons and knobs, your child can use this independently by the time they are 2! They will be able to play their favorite song again, skip a song they've heard too many times, and just take charge of entertaining themselves! Parents can control the content (and even the player itself) through the Yoto app. You can make a card for each class you are taking (like one for Red Balloons and one for Blue Bugs) or you can put all of 1st Year on a single card without any problem. Also, you could just keep re-writing a single card each time you want to change it, if you don't want to bother with a lot of cards. All your playlists are stored on the app for easy retrieval. Cards can be re-written as many times as you want! In Sound Beginnings, your child will have the ability to independently select the track they want to listen to, or just listen to the entire album. In Let's Play Music, your child can not only just listen to the music, but they can play along with it. This is especially helpful in 2nd and 3rd year when they can play their piano or keyboard along with the practice and performance tracks that are part of the album. I made an entire tutorial that shows you how to get your LPM and SB music onto your Yoto Player! Along with using your Yoto Mini for Let's Play Music or Sound Beginnings, there are hundreds of pre-made cards with music, audiobooks, stories, and more that you can purchase, as well as some free public domain content that you can also use. Keep reading to see what else this little player can do! Info from the manufacturer:
Yoto Player is a carefully connected screen-free speaker designed for kids, that brings the best audio into one place. We offer 6 audio categories: Stories, Music, Sounds Effects, Radio, Podcasts and Activities, as well as blank ‘Make Your Own’ cards to which customers can add their own audio (record a story, mp3 playlist etc.). Cards are sold separately and cost varies, depending of the length of the audio. Discover our library here!
Yoto Player is easy and intuitive for kids to play with; the experience is built around the cards: pop a card into Yoto Player and the audio starts, take the card out again and the audio stops. Inserted again, the audio starts where you left off when putting the card back in, even when switching between cards. The first time a card is inserted into the player it will download the content from our server to the Yoto Player, so that card can be played again when the Player is offline.
Yoto Player has no screen, no camera, no ads, no microphone; we're giving children aged 2-12 years old the freedom to play this audio in a safe environment, without distraction. With a simple pixel display, nightlight-mode, a clock, Bluetooth capability built-in, free daily content and a host of other features, Yoto Player is more than a smart speaker.
We constantly improve Yoto and add new features thanks to OS updates. Yoto Player, when online, will automatically download the latest firmware.
There is also a free mobile app to help parents get set-up and manage settings behind the scenes (name of the player, max volume, nightlight color etc.). When cards are purchased from our store, they will automatically be added to your app library, so you can enjoy the audio straight away while waiting for the physical card to arrive; this is what we called Instant Play. There is also a scan function: tap the card and the audio will play from your phone. All audio you own (or free audio) is accessible all the time on the app, so they can be played at any time wherever you are. (Get 10% off your FIRST Yoto purchase if you use this link.
